As an apprentice locksmith, you’ll learn how to:

- 🔧 Install, repair, and maintain locks and security systems to keep everything safe.
- 🔑 Cut keys and modify lock combinations for better protection.
- 🏠 Work on a variety of locksets and door hardware across residential, commercial, and automotive environments.

This hands-on practical course is designed to prepare you for a career in the locksmithing industry. 🚀 The Locksmithing stream of this Certificate will equip you with industry-required skills and the knowledge to start working immediately!

- 🔑 Key production
- ⚙️ Use of key machines
- 🔨 Hand tools & silver soldering
- 📝 Development of a career plan
Course Duration: 9-10 weeks full-time program
Eligibility: Completion of 12 years of education or equivalent
English Requirement: IELTS score 5.0 overall (no score below 5.0 in each component) or equivalent
Fees: AUD 6,000 to AUD 8,000 (varies by provider)
🔑 Certificate III in Locksmithing (Apprenticeship)
This apprenticeship-based course is the perfect preparation for a long-term career in the locksmithing field. 🏗️ You’ll learn everything from lock assembly to electronic security and automotive locksmithing!

Locksmiths are skilled professionals who install, maintain, and repair locks and related security devices and systems. 🏠🔒 They work in various settings, ensuring the safety and security of buildings, vehicles, and personal property. 🛡️🔑
Tasks Include:
- Assembling parts and subassemblies of precision instruments, locks, timepieces, and firearms 🛠️
- Dismantling, repairing, and replacing defective parts, and reassembling locks using hand and power tools ⚙️🔧
- Installing security systems, changing locks, cutting keys, and opening locks by manipulation 🔐
- Calibrating precision instruments using standard tools and adjusting parts for accuracy 🧰
- Making and repairing blades for saws, as well as testing circuits in electronic timepieces ⏰🪚
- Estimating repair costs and preparing quotes for clients 💰📊
